I wanted a hall table for the bar area of my basement. So of course I had to make my own (why am I like this?).
I knew the size and materials I wanted to use. And I knew I wanted the drawer fronts to be sculpted, but wasn’t quite sure on a design until I stumbled upon this video from Bevelish Creations. I ordered some multi-faceted pulls that would match nicely.
I then put a lot of time in trying to design legs unsuccessfully. I decided to move forward with building the box, knowing that the table would tell me how the legs should look when it was ready. And it did.
I made and installed this piece without telling anyone because I wanted it to see the raw reaction. My wife walked past it twice before noticing, which makes me think it fits perfectly in the space.
I’m very happy with the finished piece. There are some pretty big flaws that you can’t see and won’t matter to anyone but me. But that just means the next piece will be even better.
